My mom just randomly sent me this old picture of me pointing at a bunch of raccoons.

A photograph of a young man with his back to the camera, pointing up at a row of 6 raccoons perched on a roof

This comment honestly made my day. Indie dev can be a lonely thing, but knowing your work can have a positive effect on people makes it all worth it.

Please allow me to say that your game is great, and thank you for making it!
I played it during a difficult time in my life, looking for some escapism in the form of the point-and-click adventure games I loved as a kid. A Golden Wake was exactly the bit of comfort I needed, so I'll always remember it fondly. It gives me a warm feeling of nostalgia whenever I see it in my Steam library, sitting alongside other classics of the genre and reminding me that I'm in a better place now.
Beyond that, the game itself is a true gem. As someone who considers a strong sense of place one of the most important parts of any story, you did a masterful job. I'm not from Florida, but I could feel its history and character, from the charm to the excess, coming through at every turn.
l've always wanted to make a game of my own but have never found the courage. I'd be incredibly proud to have created something so well made and full of heart. Thank you for sharing it with the world!

I just realized that these three inventory items can be found in Chapter 4 of my adventure game. It's not what it looks like, I swear! #iykyk

Screenshot from Photoshop showing three pixel art inventory items: a silver key, a newspaper, and an iron fireplace poker.

One might assume this means I have the infamous "push key through locked door" puzzle, but I swear I don't.

As we passed this building, @jesshaskins.bsky.social remarked, “I think a level designer lives here.”

The outside of an apartment building with bright yellow gates, window bars, and a fire escape. The gate and bars feature pointing arrows.

Hit a coding milestone last week (my game is now half built!) so I decided to treat myself by drawing a background. It was nice to get back to some art! #ProjectLion

A night scene showing a wooden house on a beach lit by the full moon. The first floor windows of the house are all lit, casting a warm glow on the porch and surrounding area. Yes, I know it probably gives you Curse of Monkey Island vibes.

Today in "Adventures in Placeholder Dialogue..."

Screenshot showing a sketched background of a movie theater called The Fairfax Theatre. A placeholder sprite of a man in a hat is speaking to the main character, represented as a large stick figure. The man is saying, "Hello there, sir! Can I interest you in my nuts?"

Drawing some inventory items from #ProjectLion today and came to the realization: Chapter 3's got a lot of balls.

It's great when players get something meaningful out of a game you make.

Steam review for Lamplight City: Be haunted, solve murders, fight against new tech that's putting people out of their jobs. Yes.

Watched BARRY LYNDON last night and felt compelled to make this, because I'm a horrible person.

A meme showing two scenes from Barry Lyndon: on the top, a child is in a fancy chariot being pulled by two sheep wearing ridiculous feathered hats. Underneath the text read: "Haha look at those funny sheep! What silly hats! They have to pull a chariot!"

On the bottom: a funeral procession where the same carriage is being pulled by the same sheep, now containing a small white coffin instead of a child. Text next to the sheep says "Who's laughing now, bitch?"

My adventure game puzzles have usually been deemed "nonexistent" or "too easy," and I've been actively trying to improve that aspect with my new game. So getting this bit of tester feedback this early in the process gives me hope that I'm going in the right direction ☺️

Tester comment on Discord: "I think the puzzles hit just the right amount of challenging where I always had a hunch of what I need to strive towards and how I might be able to achieve my goals but it still took some looking around to solve them so at no point did I feel like I was really hopelessly stuck in the game but it wasn't just a cakewalk from point A to B either"
