I'm a left-of-Labor voter, which has often meant voting 1 for the Greens. You'd be right surmising my politics are pretty anti-war too. But failing to aid Ukraine's defence against invasion is loathsome and the purported principle invoked is one that does not meet the moment

David Shoebridge believes the Greens can win votes by campaigning to scrap the AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine pact and legalise recreational cannabis.

I can’t find 31 new projects through the Dept of Industry Resources and Major Energy reports 2019 to 2025. I’ll get the book if available from the library but if you have the info why not name them?

My sense of it is not the RW Christos, more an issue of class. As I’ve only spoken with three seriously looking at ON they might be outliers. One a retired TAFE teacher, one currently nursing and a successful self employed tradie.

Femicide is a bit of a challenge back here at home. And can we stop the obscene funding of “private” schools, maybe bring back techs and put everything we have into public schools? Oh, and housing and homelessness. But yeah, global challenges.

Why are we still funding Australia’s wealthiest schools?
Australia’s wealthiest private schools continue receiving public funding despite mounting budget pressures, raising questions about whether government spending on education reflects need and the broader public interest.

According to the NACC, it’s perfectly normal for investigations to last for years, and result in absolutely no findings. It can take them 2 years or so, just to find nothing.

The NACC explains why they currently have just 2 case workers managing all referrals, despite having more than enough in their budget for more staff. Apparently they’ve been mismanaging their own budget.🤦‍♂️ Does anything function correctly at the NACC? 🙄

Albo/ALP bashing has been great sport for many supposed lefties here. It puzzles me, do these agitators really believe we’ll elect a tsunami of Indies and Greens and not, as history has shown, open the door to right wing/fascism? It’s going to be interesting.

Heartbreaking to acknowledge we are racist at our core. “I stopped the boats” voted in twice, the No vote celebrated as a win and with our distorted education system it’s no surprise to me a white supremacist is now floating up. Gritting my teeth and doing what I can. Always was always will be.

I worry we’re at the burn it to the ground phase. Minns is unpopular in this ALP seat, seen as out of touch and Sydney-centric. Placing religion at the forefront of State and Fed. political rhetoric with housing and health challenging so many is a spectacular own goal. I do hope you’re right.
