The tragedy is that it has, and will now remain, underground and illegal - with doctors and others terrified of being prosecuted for doing what they know needs their help. I have personal experience - and doctors should not need to be brave and risk jail - it's terrible. Just terrible.

Here in France they are much more up-front about it. They ring the doorbell - "to give you their free-of-charge calendar for next year" - a crappy little thing costing a few cents to produce. You, overjoyed, are then expected to bung them EUR 20 or so. (And I do!! They deserve it!)

I am resident outside the UK, but after many years of disenfranchisement regained my voting rights for the last election. I voted LibDem, not Labour, I admit pure 'strategy' to GTTO. And it worked! But next time: no strategic stuff. 100% LibDem and no chance racist Labour.
