A Mischief of Magpies 2 is my favorite comic of the week. Spurrier and Bergara have never made a bad book but this might be their best. Credit to DSTLRY, this book thrives on their weird format size. Some truly inspired sequential storytelling through page design. Dark and sad and affecting.

Things you can’t get from a digital advance: The paper rules. What more can I say? I’ve been singing the praises of TTB since volume one dropped, so believe me when I say this is Chris and Jacob operating at their best, immersing the reader in a moment and place and setting the board to explode.

Thor 800 is an excellent issue from the usual team but the back ups and especially Deicide stand out. Lonergan is exactly what the current marvel slate needs; something visually unique that feels fresh. Would love to see Marvel embrace more Black Label/elseworlds style storytelling for What Ifs.
