Yeah, I can criticize the way LLMs are being *used* all day, but they're ultimately value neutral tools at their core. There really isn't even a reason for them to be bad for the environment; that's just from running frontier models at hyperscale in irresponsibly run data centres.

CAR-PG is a solid genre! Choro Q, 2005, Atlus & Takara Adorable cars doing adorable quests to level up their adorable car parts. It's a shame that it wasn't a hit. We have a Honda Fit and it needed something to make it stand out. Last year, it was Ohio's Choro Q. No one got it. #RandomGameSaturday

The only interesting conversations I've had about LLMs are with people who are technical, have some deeper understanding/nuance, and lean anti/skeptic, but non-technical folks who are just like "fuck no" are also correct because they recognize "AI" as they experience it is a fascist project.

Yeah, I was living in Brooklyn during the peak of that, and there were a *lot* of problematic elements to that scene, but there was also a weirdness at the edges of the era that got smoothed over into something more standardized and algorithmic in the intervening years.

One of the lesser discussed aspects of how the LLM bubble has fucked everything up is that it's made doing anything *legitimately* interesting in tech nigh-on impossible. Hardware is unaffordable, investment money is entirely tied up in AI, and regular folks are (rightfully) tired of tech bullshit
