Going to work at 3 is whatever, but it is much more fun when it is on campus and I can still see a fairly regular stream of people still out or just going home. Celebrate that youth! Wednesday is the new Friday!

Watching “Dawn of the Dead” to kick off fall and remembering how perfect of a movie it really is.

We have our annual company meeting tonight, so getting in a LOINS!! in advance, I’ll be watching you on a coworkers phone propped up against the table centerpiece as god intended.

We are a fairly strict catnip fever household, but otherwise this looks correct.

Just make sure you test the lenses and see how long it takes them to go back from dark to clear. I don’t think you care how you look, but everything being 40% darker anytime I went inside for anything less than a full grocery store run was enough to make me get rid of them for good.

Much like Michigan last week, the LOINS are 1-0 and that’s all that really matters.

Spent the morning parking cars with my oldest’s scout troop and then met up with my dad for what turned out to be a very fun game. Go Blue!

We will stop laughing in 5-7 business days. Go blue.

Headed to the game with my youngest. Maybe this will be the year they fix the signal inside the stadium, but more likely see you on the other side. Go blue!

I put in hidden link to Too Many Cooks when I used the phrase in an email to a community fund board I sit on, it’s a true joy to imagine the confusion that has happened or could happen if someone mouses over that and gets curious. I’m also in.

With full apologies to the teachers in my life who still deserve the next few weeks, my guess is because we’ve reached the nonsense part of summer break where these kids need to be back in school.

Packing to chaperone band camp and it gives me an opportunity to listen to the entire Killer Antz album instead of individual songs. @surber.bsky.social it’s so good, hell yeah brother. Everyone should listen to “A Chorus for the Wasteland” as soon as possible.

I’m staying away from dating/the apps for three years until my kids are in college and everything I see makes me think that I can just make that permanent.

All I’ve wanted in life is to not have to eat my vegetables and set a good example for my children. Here is a massive national regulatory failure allowing us to just eat carbs, fats, and proteins, and people are out here risking it for some soggy ass greens. Couldn’t be me.

I had a talk with my NP just this morning about how ridiculous the insurance requirements around GLP-1s are. My only chance of getting on them is if I become diabetic, even if it’s 100x cheaper to address it now.

A relatively boring color scheme, but given the current heat wave it gives me hopes of the fall to come and I’ll take that.

In Iceland right now with a 17 and 15 year old and it’s going great. Amazing views, and you can just park and walk up to various waterfalls/steam vents/etc. I’m allergic but the boys have reported good seafood and the lamb has been delicious in multiple formats.

Happy fourth, friends.
A black cat sits in the grass in front of a house. An American flag and Pride flag fly from the front porch. The cat stares into the middle distance, wondering if the human at the other end of the leash will perhaps choose today to let him chase down and destroy those winged creatures of doom that annoy him so. Or is this Independence Day in name only? There is much to consider.

The reichstag fire was in 1933 and Nuremberg laws were in 35. Pretending the Olympics had an appreciable affect on the speed of the holocaust is ahistoric at best.

Except it didn’t? It was much more of a domestic than international victory for hitler and trump hasn’t been able to (or seemingly even tried?) to capitalize on any successes of the world cup either domestically or internationally. Aryan supremacy is as much of a failure in 2026 as it was in 1936.

I went to the latest Metallica tour where it was four hours over two nights - we’re all the songs good? No. Was it loud with pyrotechnics? Yes. So debate rages on, I’d say.

I’ve got a coffee and a cat and we’re at the screen door listening to a gentle thunderstorm that is dropping the humidity and temperature to reasonable levels. A very good start to the day.

Just $3,115 left to hit the goal. I’m donating because my son’s friend is going to Bama in the fall (Roll Tide) and her rights shouldn’t change just because she’s crossing state lines. Find your reason and help @glitterburrito.bsky.social run the damn ball. fund.nnaf.org/glitterburri...

It’s a very good image, is the thing. Go blue, go sharks, there’s still time to donate to a charity in honor of the moms in your life.
