Without the support of our readers, theres a genuine chance VGC wouldn’t have survived until now, and it’s getting tougher. Half of all games media traffic has gone since 2023, thank to Google/AI. Thousands of journalists have left. This is a conversation we need to have, before it’s too late.

Games media cuts have felt unending for a while, but the mood feels especially grim among indie outlets with the latest wave of layoffs. More than ever, if the game industry values its media, it needs to support them. Buy some advertising, sponsor content, purchase subs. It makes a big difference.

I have spent a chunk of my morning trying to find my son’s Switch. He had it yesterday before I continued the Trails sub-a-thon but when I put him to bed there was no sign of it. It HAS to be in the house but every obvious and not so obvious place gets me nothing. And he can’t remember.
