Config is now fully ESM! And the package size is now lighter 🔥

While organic OSS contributors enjoy well deserved weekends, clankers keep making PRs at the same rate. Using agentscan, and a very clear AI policy increases the probablility of enjoying your Monday coffee. agentscan.tools ai-policy.dev

Today we're launching ai-policy.dev! A collaboration of me, @danielroe.dev and @matteogabriele.npmx.social - this provides a few human curated AI contribution policies you can choose from. Our hope is that this will help you better define your stance and what kind of contributions you accept 🙏

The pattern is just explained by the fact that npm is having more and more failures in collecting daily downloads

We keep the data raw, and offer data correction knobs to estimate. But the more zeros there are, the less pertinent estimations will become.

Starting in a couple hours, hope to see you all there in person or online 🫡 If anyone has a something they want to show off in a lightning talk then send me a message or come find me during the event - doesn't have to be related or polished, just something you've built or learnt you wanna share

a tweak: open source is ABOUT people … with quality as a means to that end we have the rare freedom to practise the craft + the joy of building with friends, for its own sake. I hope open source communities flourish – we must look after our mental health more than ever. but a cautionary note 👇
Could it be true, that Open Source is the last bastion to care about quality, while businesses need to be fast and care less, cause they need to compete… What do you think about that? Thanks in advance. Text on a grainy yellow-to-fuchsia-to-blue gradient.

If you have cool JS/TS utils you made, that are not part of an existing library, a function so good it would inspire you to write a poem about it, and that you want to preserve and share, come say hi discord.gg/pghjCVE5Y

AgentScan data, gathered hourly from 400 repos, clearly shows that for every PR you receive during the week-end, 1/3 to 1/2 will most likely be from an agent. Now using AgentScan helps OSS maintainers triage, to keep week-ends enjoyable.

The X axis represents the date range, from 2025-09-11 to 2026-09-09, with a daily time period. vue starts at 1.4m and ends at 3.1m, showing a mostly flat trend with a slope of 3.3k downloads per time interval. GitHub doesn't show how many projects use your GitHub Action or GitHub App, so I wrote a custom script to retrieve that information for AgentScan. I didn't expect this many projects ❤️ I'm stoked on one end and sad on the other for the mess AI spam is causing. Stay positive 💪
