Too many people sadly. Its like that idiot in Dubai ,literally being bombed buly Iran, who claims ot still safer than London. This is an act of massive cognitive dissonance not seen since the 1930s.

Im fairly certain, with one exception, that most people dont aim to be a martyr. In many respects thats the point.

It shows how crucial tactical voting has become with polling reflecting support for a party and the actual election showing how people have opted for the party they think are most likely to beat their worst option. This is also true for the Tory vote incidentally.

Im not a great supporter of the Green Party, but i am a firm believer that almost anyone but Reform is the most positive solution for our country. We dont need a Trump doppelganger in Number 10.

The great fear is that it also makes China stronger. By driving the USAs natural allies into the embrace of China, predominantly for trade, but as we know thats a basis for alliances.

The first possibly. The second unlikely. The third is actually the opposite, the reason for the cancellation is because Labour have followed " due process"

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free

Unlicensed, surely Farage will be demanding his resignation like he did for Reeves.

It’s weird how they are happy to support a woman who called for the murder of innocent people in hotels and are so incensed by a common, but unacceptable, slur. If only Farage had apologised for his antisemitism and racism.

It seems so given the Reform polling. Despite being so wrong on Brexit and being stuffed full of failed Tories people still seem to want to vote for Farage. Its like they want to push the self destruct button.

I had planned to visit the USA in the next two years, but cancelled those plans when Trump was elected. I doubt I would pass social media scrutiny.

The main outcome of the death of Rudolf ,who was in the terms of the time a more liberal person, was the change in succession to Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Killed by a Serbian nationalist and the trigger for the great war.

Its very rarely spoken off,but without China the USA would have suffered far greater casualties in WW2. Its entirely possible that without their sacrifice that the USA might have lost the war before the atom bomb was finished.

I fail to understand that when, as a nation, the police recieve a domestic abuse call on average every 30 seconds why the Tories are objecting to a programme designed to teach youngsters about consensual relationships and reasonable behaviour. Its as if they want the circle of abuse to be perpetual

On the eve of the 2016 Brexit referendum, the Daily Mail published a long editorial with 10 reasons to leave the EU. Reason 5 was too many immigrants from Eastern Europe. Yesterday, they put out a piece moaning about the huge number of Poles who've left the UK since Brexit.
5. HOW TO CONTROL OUR BORDERS

Currently there’s no upper limit on migration and no proper control of our borders. More than three million EU migrants live in the UK — double the number in 2004 when the EU expanded to include Eastern European countries, who have sent more than a million people here (despite the last Labour Government saying it would be only 13,000 a year.)

Net migration from EU countries to the UK, according to official figures, is 184,000 a year — enough to fill a city the size of Oxford. David Cameron has never hit his target to reduce net migration to the tens of thousands — and most agree he never will if we remain inside the EU.The great Polish exodus: The arrival of 100,000s of Poles changed the face of Britain, but now they're returning home in droves for a better life in their low-tax, booming homeland. Could there be a more damning indictment of our decline?

It is undoubtedly important that if this is not the case we need to be more robust in exposing that as well. Just ignoring the possible links serves no one.

Gordon @gordoncraig.bsky.social · 12/12/2025
Do you mean that we should just ignore any links if they are there? We know most rapes are committed by white males, but is also apparent that there is a disproportionate involvement by South Asian men in grooming gangs in some regions. Should we ignore that?

I would argue that although some laws have a Christian basis it is untrue to claim the UK is anything but secular. Barely 2% of the population visit church regularly.

I recognise that there are people on benefits who could and should be working. However, the relentless othering of welfare recipients including the disabled and the mentally ill is a kick back to 1930s Germany again. Lets not ctrate more scapegoats for the permanently angry.

In particular his refusal to cooperate over attempts to stop child sexual abuse on line. Forgive me for thinking the EU might be the good guys here.

Gordon @gordoncraig.bsky.social · 07/12/2025
At least part of the fine handed out to x was because of non compliance with the efforts to stop people using the platform to promote child sex abuse. Anyone else think that the EU might be on the correct side here?

Gordon @gordoncraig.bsky.social · 07/12/2025
Just for context the claim that people in benefits could get an equivalent to a £71000 salary would require both parents and at least one child to be dialsabled and to live in a high rent home (probably due to disabilities). You know, the very people society should be supporting!

Love the flag, hate the fact it’s being hijacked by swastika wearing thugs and racists to attack the very values that it embodies. It’s the flag our ancestors marched behind to defeat Fascism not to promote it. If you don’t like our values, feel free to leave.

At the time NF was singing German war songs and praising Hitler I was a student in Leicester standing up to the National Front and marching against Racists. I am only a little older than NF and entirely aware that telling Jewish students that “Hitler was right” has never been acceptable.

The USA only became a civilisation in 1965 after the passed the Voting Acts Bill, ending the deliberate disenfranchisement of people of colour. Something Trump seems keen to reverse.

Interesting comment I read today, sorry I don’t remember who to credit, but Farage was adamant that Shamima Begum was perfectly capable of understanding the consequences of her actions at 14 but a well educated middle class 18 year old can spout racist bile because it’s only banter!

I would look out for your pensions if either the Tories or Reform come to power, it’s the only viable place to cut the welfare bill. Or just possibly the Tories are lying to you, again. Thanks to the DWP for the stats.
