"concept artists can experiment with AI to make their lives easi-" wrong I smack you with Claire Hummel's immaculate and detailed understanding of costume design, which she got by studying historical references, which made her strong, which you will not become by relying on AI get good

Some hand sheets I made for the animation team! I looked at how Dana drew hands a lot and coupled it with my own anatomical knowledge of hands. #KnightsOfGuinevere

There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes. It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click. I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows

the struggle of finally having the motivation to read but it's because you're in the middle of a podcast about a book, and you're not ready to stop listening to the podcast but there's no way you can read words at the same time that words are spoken into your ears

never learned how to cook so I figure better late than never, here's a few things I've managed in the kitchen since I started trying to rely on more from-scratch meals for the sake of saving $$

baked sweet potato fries, sriracha mayo, and a wannabe-patty-melt because I made the patties from scratch but didn't have rye nor onion

the best soft-basted eggs I've ever had (and I MADE THEM) with some slices of fried spam and grain toast

bacon, pierogi, and roasted cabbage that I didn't quite nail but got pretty dang close, I didn't die so it must have been ok

My Tamagotchi is now 800 days old! 💪🦈 I am so close to reach my goal, just 200 days to go, this feels unreal! Keeping a Tamagotchi alive this long is such an experience.

A photo of my Tamagotchi Uni with my current tamagotchi, Shykutchi, being 800 days old (800 years old for him)

At the bottom, an illustration of my old Shykutchi, wearing a hat and having a rainbow behind him.

He looks happy and pleased, smiling.

He also have a long beard and eyebrows.

2D animation is booming in theaters. In China, the film Nobody is outgrossing many of Hollywood's recent CG films—on a $10< million budget. It's only one example. As 2D films rise, Hollywood's decision to kill them off looks shortsighted. We explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/the-hand-d...

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them.

Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!”

Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.”

Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.

Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.
