Measures such as electric vehicles, renewable electricity, heating electrification, sustainable fuels and energy productivity could cut global oil demand 16–20% (displacing 82–110% of Hormuz flows) and gas demand 26–34% by 2035, reducing dependency on the Hormuz route.
