Four patches of ice left. That should terrify us more than it does. West Papua’s glaciers survived for thousands of years above the equator. We are now watching them disappear within a human lifetime. Soon there will be satellite images showing nothing at all. This isn’t the future. This is now

Just had my final job interview — and it went surprisingly well. I won’t say too much yet, but imagine an airport, a premium environment, international travellers, hospitality and solving the occasional travel problem. Basically… suspiciously close to my natural habitat. Now we wait.

West Papua is rarely spoken about in international fora. We must not forget the struggle of West Papuans. Extrajudicial killings, torture, arbitrary detention, and the denial of West Papuans' rights to self-determination through Indonesia's extractive colonial occupation.

Four Indigenous Papuans killed in Indonesian military operation in Intan Jaya. Military says they were armed fighters. Local accounts say three were civilians. Given West Papua’s documented history of killings and impunity, one question matters: Who independently verifies the military’s version?
