I know it's my answer to everything, but Fleetwood Mac. Their blues stuff is good but the Stevie/Lindsey albums are genre defining blah blah. Also Tango in the Night (another genre shift, arguably) is crazy underrated.

Look Ensign, it’s Monday. And sometimes on Monday you just need to pack it in and convert your work station into a blanket fort. And sometimes your blanket fort needs the bare essentials. Like tactical coco. A bean bag chair. Maybe some string lights. Snacks. Pictures of Julian I mean your wife

No idea if this is a hot take, but if I see that a small independent record label is chill with people using AI cover art, I start questioning whether the music is also suspect, and lose interest really fast.

More adventures in trying to teach myself two color brioche, because I'm masochistic. There are truly SO MANY mistakes in this hat, but hopefully whoever gets it for Christmas won't notice.....

I periodically come across an article that feels like it might be AI slop and then spend an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out whether any of the people listed as writers/journalists on the site are actually human. 1/2

This is genuinely one of the reasons I've worked in vet med/animal care for so long, even though it's physically and mentally draining, and frequently doesn't pay well. At the end of the day I know I'm doing something useful, and making things better for the animals and owners I encounter.

In Massachusetts, we have a responsibility to protect the vulnerable and stand up for those who need it. We don’t throw trans kids under the bus for political points. We protect them—and all of our neighbors—because trans rights are human rights.

No idea if this is still happening, but in a public high school in Massachusetts in 2002 you could be sent to the office/get detention if you didn't stand for the pledge of allegiance every morning. You didn't have to actually SAY it, a fact which I reminded people of at every opportunity.

A totally fair freak out - I went to a boarding school in rural NH and we had a bunch of students from NYC that couldn't get a hold of their families for hours. So far as I know, they all got in touch eventually and everyone was okay, but it was really scary.
