Some authors can craft villains so charming, sexy, and undeniably compelling that you find yourself wishing the princess would give in to the dark side just this once. You know, to see where it goes. Maybe she can find Prince Charming later. #booksky #currentlyreading #books #booklists #romance

I had some of these on my TBR earlier but didn't get to them yet. Just realized that literally everything on my TBR now has a black/white/red aesthetic going and I kind of love when that happens. ❤️🤍🖤🩶 I have Kings of the Wyld and Suffer the Children on audio as well. #booksky

While you may forget the specifics of a book, you'll never forget how it made you feel. This feeling, you may forever evoke at will. Essentially, on an emotional level, you can revisit an entire world in a single thought. That's pretty neat. #BookSky #WritingCommunity #Writing #Reading #Books

I’ve needed an escape and so have been turning to fiction, and y’all, I haven’t read in so long a book as exhilarating and beautifully humane as Barbara Kingsolver’s “Demon Copperhead.” I turned the last page and yet can’t get the characters and the writing out of my head. Do yourselves a favor.

Writing is an act of rebellion. Writing is an act of creation. Writing is an act of salvation. Writing is an act of exploration. Writing is an act of emotion. Writing is an act of confession. Writing is an act of speculation. Writing is an act of reflection. Keep writing.

What a turnaround for typos and grammatical mistakes. After years of being irritants, they are now quaint and charming evidence that the text was written by a human being.

Last night we went Christmas shopping at a Night Market in Culver City. They had great, unique gifts (including a young woman with a typewriter who wrote custom poems for $10). It felt so good spending our money on local artists who are just happy for the business and don’t want to control the world

One good thing about self-checkout is it never asks me what kind of party I'm having when I ring up $115 worth of cheese I’ve just bought for myself. If you must know, I'm having an “I'm an adult and nobody can tell me how much cheese I can buy for myself" party and it's gonna be totally awesome

Write that thing. Pluck it outta your soul with rusty pliers. Hit the keyboard like it owes you money. Write whenever, wherever you can. Tell your story. Make the words dance. Whatever you want—a novel, a short story, an agent, a movie—it all starts with the writing.

What do I want for Christmas? A mysterious manor in the Scottish countryside, a vast expanse of land, a library of vintage novels, a collection of the world’s rarest wines, an owl to deliver and retrieve my post, and my own personal pastry chef. I'm really not that hard to shop for.
