I'm not saying we should abandon electrical technology, it's very good. But I will say I think we should return to mechanical means for many things. You do not need an app for your door lock. You do not need a smart fridge. You do not need a coffee machine with a camera. Bring back the mechanical.

PSA: Bluesky's new auto-tagging moderation stuff is a disaster. Disable it. Go into Settings on the Bluesky site and enable adult content and set everything to Warn at most, which makes posts opt-in. Hide just vanishes posts. Then go into Advanced/Bluesky Mod Service and do the same on everything.

i really just found out they changed the lighting engine in minecraft from an off hand comment in a video. i've been operating off of the exact same "every block must be light level 7 or higher or else mobs will spawn" system cool
