Ruby’s essay moves like a pelagic bird- a tubenose - a shearwater or storm petrel - and it is VERY helpful spotting the Algerian and cold war contexts in the choppy waters of Frank O’Hara’s “Biotherm” (plus it’s a cool performative tribute to Jeff Dolven’s beautiful book on style) Brilliant stuff
