Going through WoW addons and seeing claude as a contributor on pretty much every one of them is sending me. Unfortunately the pandora's box has been opened and I think it's going to be impossible going forward to avoid ai/llm assisted coding in open source projects.

I did dip my toes in and test it out, and for everything that I personally use Photoshop for it did work. That being said, I already have PhotoGIMP which already does everything I need. In closing, we're living through an episode of Black Mirror but also Adobe can fuck off and die.

With all that being said, AI-assisted clean room design hasn't been tested in court yet, and there's no way to definitively prove that the LLM didn't use any proprietary knowledge or have it in its data set. Also the end result is purely vibe coded, something I have personal hang-ups with.

Clean-room design, where you have one person reverse engineer and create the spec, then have another completely different person implemented it so that no proprietary knowledge or code is ever used is a legally tested method to avoid copyright infringement issues.

Decompiling is essentially a brute force, trial and error process. Since you need to verify everything you do, it's something that LLMs actually excel at since the outcome is deterministic. An LLM can spend 2 hours bashing its proverbial head against a wall to solve the problem.

I feel like if anything is going to get AI regulated it will be this. The bag is now being actively fucked with. Funny that the AI labs tried fear mongering so they could do regulatory capture when the solution was right there the whole time

I find the decompiling and clean-room re-implementations of the entire Adobe suite to be very poetic. Couldn't have happened to a better company. I do have reservations about entirely LLM generated code bases, and watching this happen does have me equal parts fascinated and horrified.

The weather cooling and my Mom being gone on a vacation for 3 weeks means I could keep the house nice a cool and as such aside from a couple warm days, I haven't run the hvac for more than 40ish minutes a couple days in the last 3 weeks. This months bills are gonna be so good

My doctor told me in her own words that I had the most textbook case of appendicitis she's ever seen It would stand to reason I would also experience all the textbook complications as well 😂

Feeling surprisingly fine this morning. Just taking it easy and moving around a little bit based on the notes from the hospital The timeline looked kinda like this
