And here I was getting snippy that we were hitting the low 90s down here in Alabama last week. Near 90 in Minnesota in October is nuts. Please fix that by the time I get up to Chanhassen on Tuesday. I would like to remember what cooler weather is like. 😂

Need to go out and get some contact guys that hit for average. I'd gladly settle for a .320 average and 20 HR over any of these Mendoza line scrubs that strike 100-200 times a year but hit 30-40 bombs. Those might work okay in the regular season but more often than not it ends up like this in Oct.

I just want us to get some decent hitters that are high OBP and contact hitters instead of swing for the fence and strike out 200 times a year players. Be smart, be patient, take walks and if a situation calls for a bunt, bunt! Use a sacrifice fly. You can't get leadoff doubles and not score them.

100%, I would be more upset if we lost to them in the Wild Card. With how our offense was the last half of the season, it was a dice roll as to whether we were going to see Jekyll or Hyde. Just glad we beat them. Thanks for all the clips this season and hopefully its not a long wait to give it (1/2)

They released the xlsx with the actual benefits as well. So all those can be found at: fersready.com/fehb MHBP got destroyed. Primary Care $20 to $35, Specialist $35 to $50. Deductible from $350/$700 to $500/$1000. OOPM up from $6000/$12000 to $8000/$16000 depending on your plan type. Terrible.

How goes the research into more effective control methods for Apple Bitter Rot (not to be confused with Bitter Pit)? I know there was some research ongoing into keeping the germinated fungal bodies from waking up from their quiescence period and thus preventing the rot itself and resistance to FRAC.

The first time I visited to Mobile in the summer of '07 for Southbound Orientation me and my parents went to the old Borders off Airport Blvd to wait out a storm after eating dinner. I watched a small Cadillac disappear into a pothole lake as they were driving through the parking lot. Ah memories.

Let's play can you find when the front passed?

A meteogram showing a plot temperature and dewpoint over 24 hours starting at 12 AM Sunday January 25th, 2026 with data valid through 8:45 AM. Shows temperatures remaining steady in the low 50s until about 4:30 AM when a steady rise to around 58 occurred, peaking at 7:30 AM. Then a sharp drop to around 40 degrees by 8:30AM following the passage of the cold front.

bill minibus, including Defense, Labor-HHS, THUD appropriations bills, when they return from their Veterans Day recess. So that puts that appropriations legislation on a good path to pass the Senate at least and then conference with the House. Since we know Defense is the one thing they care about.

This was at the quarter to half yard line before the ball hit the plane. Separately from the main hit in the endzone.

Georgia player hit the ball prior to the second hit in the endzone. On the replay you can see a UGA players black glove hit the ball and it start spinning in AU QBs hands. That was enough to get the call upheld. No way to tell conclusively if he had possession after that due to the movement.

Senate just voted to confirm Dr. Jacobs and the other 106 nominees. So now all that remains is for him to be sworn in.

010

GetnCurriedAway @getncurriedaway.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

Thune filed cloture for the nominees on Friday. The cloture vote is on Monday after the two government shutdown votes. Then if cloture is invoked the final vote will be sometime after that. www.senate.gov/legislative/... So, he is not yet confirmed, still two votes to go for that, but soon.

In yet another case of weather whiplash, fires today in western North Carolina occurred four months after Helene’s historic rainfall. If no rain occurs with Friday’s front, Asheville will have its 4th driest January on record. 120-day departures are as much as 12-16”+ in the southern Apps. #NCwx

Satellite-detected heat signatures outlined by pixels over McDowell County, NC, to the east-northeast of Asheville. Fires remain active as of late afternoon, amid decreasing winds but relative humidity in the teens.

30-day percent of normal precipitation over the southern Appalachians. Dark red areas have seen <25% of normal amounts in this period. Generally the entire region has been drier than normal amid an unusually cold January, with a suppressed storm track well to the south.

120-day precipitation departures are as high as 12-16”+ in the dark red areas and widely range from 6-12” in the southern Appalachians, Piedmont and adjacent areas. This dryness immediately followed Helene’s historic rainfall, which left the region in despair.

Ranking of monthly precipitation projected out through the end of January. Some areas will see rain with a front on Friday, but amounts are trending lower. If no rain occurs in Asheville tomorrow night into Friday, they could end up with their 4th driest January in 137 years.
