I feel that with the recent joys of putting a fly's conscious into the torment nexus, the short story "Lena" by qntm should be mandatory reading material for just about everyone. It's about as poignant as it can be about mind-uploading in our *current* society and not an utopia. qntm.org/mmacevedo

It is almost time! It simultaneously feels like an ETERNITY has passed and also no time at all since we began this project. It’s been a ride and I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve managed to make with this team. No need for a manicure in the coming weeks! (may also have to cancel pedicure)

I might just play her a fourth time in the future but in the meantime here is my eponymous protection paladin for World of Warcraft :3 #art #qsy

A picture of my paladin character wearing early levels maille armor, holding a small round shield and a mace with a lanyard.

A picture of my WoW character wearing early 30's maille armor from Duskwood quest rewards, so noticeably darker, while ladden with skulls and hands she has to turn in. Humans get a lot of kill quests in this level range.

My paladin wearing the full scarlet maille set, more for rp reasons than anything else. She has a tiny chicken on her shoulder.

A portrait of my paladin Qsy, wearing armor inspired by the scarlet crusade maille set but shaped and fitted more like a 13th century coat of plates. She is frowning at the pov and holding her large wooden mallet across her shoulder.

Smol update, I got a new apartment and moved in! Still no internet, but I can draw again. Yay. Thinking about doing a 3x3 portrait set of Linea in my mutual's styles here to get back into it. Or maybe render some of my doodles. We'll see! Soon(?) Still gotta clear the promised 2025 backlog too 😭

Heya, the reason why I'm rather inactive right now is that I got a new job and I'm moving 300+km (Yay!) in the middle of a severe winter storm (yay?) But also every apartment visit is 7h of driving, which is... driving me insane. Anyway, I couldnt even scrap enough time together to finish this skeb

First render made for one of my Signalis MTG proxies ^_^ One of my rules for this proxy deck idea is that I'm not allowed to rename any cards unless its a legendary spell. So I love love love cards like Path to Exile that work so well name and flavor wise.

A render of the Penrose-512 silhouetting Leng as it flies away from the sun, and out towards the emptiness of space.

The same render as the previous image, but formatted and set as the card art for a proxied MTG card.

Another year, another #art roundup. This year Ive experimented and pushed myself a lot. Shifting a lot more to painting in the process, I suspect that trend will continue next year I wont pursue art as a career in 2026, so I'll focus a lot more on drawing for fun rather than technical skill mastery

Art Roundup for me.
My favourite is July.

Subjectively speaking, this has to be the hottest winters I've ever experienced. With the exception of a cold flash in November, temps have been so high that I neither need to heat my flat nor put on more than shorts. Consistently above 5°C here during the day Iwish I could do more against c-change

I'm giving pluribus a shot. I already had a general idea of what it's about from the collective cultural consciousness of YT and it seemed a bit too cheesy for me. But the show is really neat so far. Not at all campy and the cinematography is great too. It's slow, introspective and... interesting.

Whenever I draw for myself I think it often looks a bit skrunkly; I like to try out different ways to draw and stylize things more than getting super clean final images, but I'll probably start posting these doodle experiments too.

Poppy cake. Did you know that IRL i am a poppy cake chef of middling renown? I have in fact invented several poppy based recipes and dishes, a number that is also steadily growing due to my love for poppy seed.

My favourite invention so far is a kind of pastry with poppy and hazelnut spread, but it needs something creamy or light to balance out all that nutty tang.

Daniel Vierge's 1871 drawings of female Communards in Paris for Le Monde illustré, it must have been pretty unsettling to the European powers to see women under arms with red scarves and black flags.

Last one of the Russian girlfailures. The TOS-1A counts as "unarmored" by the petit char design conventions, so no traditional Russian plate armor, but she is a close range urban brawler nonetheless. A bit loser than the others to speed up the workflow (and have more fun) #art #PetitChar
