Another year, another #art roundup. This year Ive experimented and pushed myself a lot. Shifting a lot more to painting in the process, I suspect that trend will continue next year I wont pursue art as a career in 2026, so I'll focus a lot more on drawing for fun rather than technical skill mastery

Whenever I draw for myself I think it often looks a bit skrunkly; I like to try out different ways to draw and stylize things more than getting super clean final images, but I'll probably start posting these doodle experiments too.

Poppy cake. Did you know that IRL i am a poppy cake chef of middling renown? I have in fact invented several poppy based recipes and dishes, a number that is also steadily growing due to my love for poppy seed.

My favourite invention so far is a kind of pastry with poppy and hazelnut spread, but it needs something creamy or light to balance out all that nutty tang.

Next up would be redoing the namesake nation of FRANÇAISE with a more earnest attempt at combining tank armor and ~15th century knightly armor. A decorative cloth covering the plate with bare metal placard on the leclerc. But I may take a little break from this series for now, it aint super popular

Last one of the Russian girlfailures. The TOS-1A counts as "unarmored" by the petit char design conventions, so no traditional Russian plate armor, but she is a close range urban brawler nonetheless. A bit loser than the others to speed up the workflow (and have more fun) #art #PetitChar

The tattoo is a lenin power pole cat hybrid. celebrating the electricifcation of the people. Ran out of time to design a full sleeve, but it's power poles and cats on her arm all the way up. Also drew the gun a bit too big and not functional enough, but oh well :D Next time.

Petit Char BMP-2M (field modified). The BMP has little armor, so I just thought about strap on ERA bricks and the personality developed from there. Still thinking about how to balance inbetween "cute outfits, uniforms, fictionalized armor, and historical armor". (BMP2m being the first, foremost)

Yes, since it's been a while, I will also redo the old French and German designs I kinda wish information on 14th century "knightly" armor information was more accessible, or rather, not buried beneath enshitified google "buy my 50$ breastplate replica" results. Particularly national differences.

Sometimes people might be curious "why dont you give concise information in these blurps, why is it always kind of vague?"
Well, the sad truth is that alt text is used by GenAI scrapers to "tag" images. My friend, nytetyde, actually had his entire collective artwork scrubbed and fed into a GenAI model that explicitly attempts to replicate his style. So this stuff definetly affects us little people as well.

You may not believe it, but there is a direct lineage between me starting ballpoint doodles in a sketchbook in 2022 and what I draw now. To me technical improvement is a large part of what drives me, but it may not be for you. You can always redraw your ideas, make them better later on.

I know this meme is used more often for sketch-final, but to me it speaks more about endurance in art. 2023/2025 You dont have to be a master artist to give your ideas life, you dont need to have superb technical mastery. What matters is that you start now and never stop believing in yourself.
