A very general point: large-scale structure and #cosmology is now such a mature field that papers which – a. have a very new/exciting result, b. can be concisely written for a general audience, and c. are correct are vanishingly rare. But only the first 2 are non-negotiable for Nature papers! 🔭🧪

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

I suspect that fact that the vast majority of LLM users don’t seem to have received this (really very simple!) message is because the AI companies have a vested interest in us not understanding it. “ChatGPT is smart, it just makes mistakes sometimes” is much more marketable than the truth.

Die Celsius-Temperaturskala ist übrigens nach dem schwedischen Forscher Anders Celsius benannt. Ich schlage vor, ihm zu Ehren Fahrenheit auf "Anders Celsius" umzubenennen: "Null Grad Celsius ist 32 Grad Anders Celsius". Das wäre wahnsinnig verwirrend aber sehr lustig.
