AEG would not exist without the creativity and hard work of designers.

It's been 16 (!) days. Social media is harder than ever to tap into without wanting to just grab some bread, some cheese, and live my dreams of finding a fae portal. Or a moving castle. So, here are 5 #boardgames to become my favourite #Ghibli heroine, Sophie Hatter.

Unrelated, but with everything else going on my teen, (who is *really cool*), just told me I was cool AND relatable. Pardon me while I absolutely lose it...in private. Like a cool person.

Something I love beyond all reason is when a mockumentary hard-cuts to a 5 second scene that took an entire set build, full wardrobe and makeup, and a whole cast of extras to film - I appreciate the comedic shit out of that.

JANM supports the Neighbors Not Enemies Act, which will be reintroduced early in the 119th Congress. This bill would repeal the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which was used to intern 31,000 noncitizens of Japanese, German, and Italian descent during World War II. www.hirono.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

Where did it come from and what does it want? A creature for @themonstersknow.com's soon to be announced book, heavily inspired by nudibranches which are beautiful and look quite alien

Black and white ink drawing in a comic book style of a large creature crashing through a forest knocking down trees and causing debris to swirl in the air. The creature looks similar to a nudibranch, it has a flat, rippling slug-like body with large tentacles extruding from the sides and many small squiggly worm-like tentacles coming out of where its mouth might be. There are two tube shaped tapered structures coming out of its head. The monster is breaking the frame of the drawing, indicating its size and strength to the viewer.

Reminder, while you're activated, not to reinvent the wheel. Whatever action you are thinking about taking, someone probably already tried it or something similar to it, so you have the advantage of a fresh new perspective but you're doing yourself no favors if you don't learn from their experience.

Mister Rogers spoke often and at length about love, respect, kindness, understanding, listening, and caring for others. AND he used his platform to wash his feet with a Black man and speak out at congress and elevate the marginalized and push back on discrimination. He took action.

To any businesses or individuals listening. Community building shouldn't be about elevating your own importance in a space. It should be about creating spaces where the community can truly connect. Feel seen. Share ideas. Make friends. The goal should be to make your community's lives richer.

I feel like my life is one long quest for the kind of food I read about in my books. I keep buying medianoche and cubano sandwiches, and never really enjoying them. Every time I just find myself longing to read the book again because of how heavenly they described it.

My solution to this is a recommendation. Play games with strangers. With friends. With family. Start them with something that maybe you've outgrown but they'll love and nurture those baby gamers. Make gaming normal after dinner, during lunch breaks. Make it simple or silly, not complex! Be gracious.
