We did this in UK in early 2000s: outsourced & offshored IT to India then cut graduate entry jobs. A few years later, companies realised they no longer had anyone in-house who understood their systems, as older devs aged out and they'd killed their own supply chain. 1203

Unemployment didn't grow much except for fresh graduates. AI doesn't cause it. Economical uncertainty does. In China youth unemployment is now lower than before the release of chatGPT. 071
