Coal growth is flattening in China. This is without Canadian LNG. We don't need more "methane" production and export. We need clean electricity. #electrifyEverything

Yeah, it was so weird. Going to the gas station in my electric car and then filling my jerrycan to get enough gasoline to put in the old gas powered tools so that I could sell them. So apart from vacation rental vehicles I think I’ve spent $10 on gasoline in 2 years.

China demonstrates solid growth in EV sales for both personal cars and industrial trucking. China is showing the way and realizing cleaner air, more stable energy costs & a better competitive edge. Will North America keep chasing the old dirty technology of "drill baby drill"? Plan for the future

I often see people claim that because clean energy sources like solar, wind, or nuclear are manufactured using fossil fuels their emissions are high. But thats absolutely not the case: even accounting for full lifecycle emissions they are vastly better than burning coal or gas:

I’m finally making the switch to electric yard tools from gasoline powered yard tools. I hadn’t anticipated how much quieter they were and that they were actually higher performance. There’s no priming, choke, air filters, running the engine to get it warm. They just work instantly.

China is electrifying its industries and gaining a huge cost advantage. Will Canada and North America wake up? or double down on polluting technology from the past like Oil, Gas, LNG etc.

As big oil corporations push Canada to subsidize and invest in LNG to "save China from coal generation". China is already saving itself. Some of these LNG projects have significant foreign ownership. Profits don't necessarily flow to Canada. #strandedAssets

Could we please stop framing climate action as a left/right issue. It’s just a big issue that all politicians need to grapple with. Both a massive cost/risk & huge economic opportunity with clean energy transition (with big risk of stranded fossil fuel assets).

In many ways Mark Carney is proving to be an excellent Prime Minister for Canada at a critical time in our nation’s history. But he also might be the smartest man in the world to act really stupidly about #ClimateChange at a critical time in world history.

In North America some resist clean energy because countries like China create more pollution. That is not the whole story. China's demand for coal and gas is leveling and might have peaked already. China needs to decarbonize. Yes. And they have started in an impressive way.

Witnessing injustice as a form of prayer shifts the focus from trying to force an outcome to a deeper act of presence and solidarity. It becomes a way of holding the truth of the suffering, refusing to let it disappear, and offering that pain up to something larger. I watch Ukraine 🇺🇦

TIL: Kyiv's founding date is around 482 AD, though archaeological evidence suggests settlement in the area going back even further, possibly to the 5th–6th century. Moscow, is first mentioned in historical records in 1147 AD, when it was a minor settlement. So Kyiv predates Moscow by 700 years.

This is important. The “right to charge” is going to be coming in some jurisdictions and renters and non-renters alike can start making their representatives aware of this need so that cities and other agencies require electricity at the parking spot.

One consideration that might work for some people if they have a terrible and long commute. if they were to finance an electric vehicle, the savings on gas might pay for that loan. I know two people who’ve done exactly this. Again, not for everybody.

Totally agree EV’s are one of the solutions and a pretty good one, but they’re not something everyone can access right now. Same goes for biking We need to build good off ramps for people so they can switch from polluting fossil fuels to new energy that’s cleaner and more affordable for them
