I hold controversial opinions: ketchup should never be on hotdogs; all sandwiches are tacos; multimodal transit should be plentiful

Putting on my "well actually" glasses. At best this would be a cove, but one could also argue it's a slight depression in the shoreline. The Depression of Cleveland seems spot on.

"I'll say that fatal shootings in 2012 were 211, and in 2024 there were 541. And post-pandemic, it increased exponentially," Rivera said. None of these things are true. There were 26 fatal shootings in 2012 and 55 in 2024.

Seattle city council's District 5 has been held by pro-business backed candidates for a long time. Debora Juarez has held this seat on-and-off for nearly a decade. Cathy Moore won the seat in 2024, but resigned 18 months later. There is a special election *right now* to fill the seat until 2028.

The mainstream media have been blaming Katie Wilson for getting inaccurate information out there. Why aren't they talking about the fact that the police chief gave out information that appears to have been completely wrong, leading to inaccurate media reports like this one in the NYT?

If I didn't know more about him, I might look at more of his content, which appears to start like this, then some "spicier" takes, then full on fascist content. Meta has been doing this for years, and seems to only have gotten worse. 2/2

This is what the beginning of a radicalization rabbit hole looks like. I mostly follow local businesses and youth soccer on Instagram and never interact with far-right accounts or content. Yet here is Meta "helpfully" serving up this anodyne Matt Walsh content. 1/2
A Instagram post of a screenshot of a Xitter post from far-right activist, Matt Walsh

"Youth sports went completely insane at some
point over the past several years. Parents
spending thousands of dollars, devoting
multiple days a week, traveling all around, all so
their kid can obsessively play a particular sport
and then graduate high school and never play it
again. I actually think the "everybody's a
winner, the score doesn't matter" approach
was preferable to this. Bring back the
participation trophies if this is the alternative."

Can confirm. I grew up in an evangelical Christian household, but my brother and I were also taught to think for ourselves. That's probably why we are both agnostic and still have a good relationship with our parents. My child has never been to religious service but are welcome to if they decide

Mr. Fun @funraindrop9328.bsky.social · 25/07/2026
It's so weird that OpenAI disclosed all of this a week after this report www.adweek.com/media/openai... and then Futurism reposted the same info a day before the disclosure. Suddenly a super scary agent that can hack into anything emerges
adweek.com
OpenAI's Ad Business Is on Pace to Miss Its Own Forecast By 90%, Analyst Says
OpenAI is projecting $100 billion in ad revenue by 2030. Emarketer puts the ceiling for the entire chatbot ad market at just $5.41 billion.
010
Mr. Fun @funraindrop9328.bsky.social · 25/07/2026
And OpenAI wouldn't lie because Sam Altman has always told the truth. And Hugging Face, out of the goodness of their heart disclosed the hack because they have no vested interest in AI being scary but also interesting. There's literally no independently verified information outside spurious sources
010
Mr. Fun @funraindrop9328.bsky.social · 25/07/2026
What prompt and instruction sets were used for these agents? Were humans in the loop at any point? Were agents allowed to connect to the Internet? Has this even been verified by a party without a vested interest? Basic information is missing and unasked. Stinks of a marketing stunt

Mr. Fun @funraindrop9328.bsky.social · 25/07/2026
I'm just an engineer. Why am I asking questions that no journalist seems to be asking or at least publishing? This all stinks of marketing bullshit with little to no substance behind it. I could be wrong, but at least I wonder about the possibilities.
010
Mr. Fun @funraindrop9328.bsky.social · 25/07/2026
Why don't we know anything about the prompt(s) that were used to initiate this? Were there humans in the approval loop? Why did this come out on the heels of bad press that OpenAI was woefully behind on sales targets? 3/

Mr. Fun @funraindrop9328.bsky.social · 25/07/2026
Think about how long it takes for a bank to tell its customers that they were hacked, and they always minimize the severity. In this case it was quickly disclosed, and then published widely by credulous journalists who have done nothing more than repeat OpenAI and HuggingFace's narrative. 2/
