Sometimes I don't get my plug earrings set right in my piercings and don't notice for hours. I'm surprised these amethyst plugs didn't fall out with how poorly they were secured in my lobes. They might have if I worked a more physical job (but then I wouldn't wear them to that kind of job)

I was a Democrat since I knew what voting was & was always a staunch supporter of unions (even if my mother is on record as being anti-union, my father's union membership is what gave me a childhood), but learning the fully legal tricks & sleight of hand that go on turned me into an anti-capitalist

What radicalized you? The fact that the idea, all people should have basic human rights, not be seen as disposable just because they are not "providing enough profit for the shareholders", and that we should care and help lift up each other, is seen as a "violent anti-government leftist ideology".

If you're wondering why Flock leaves cameras up after a contract end, part of their business model and marketing strategy is being able to advertise that their customers can access data from cameras all over the country. You may have canceled your contract, but the cameras still fuel the system.

Beyond the fact trans people don’t like it, calling Mar-a-Lago face gender affirming care also just isn’t true. It’s about catering to the aesthetics of racial eugenics and racial hygiene. It’s race “affirming care”. This is about curating the “correct” type of WHITE femininity and masculinity

I believe the image of the painting accompanied a section on colonial America, & it had a landscape with houses & people, but the depth of field isn't realistic; the hills and valleys kinda stack on top of each other. The colors were simple & a bit flat. The people and houses weren't proportionate

They're very good! I grew up in a small valley here in Idaho (not the Northeast, but the Northwest/Mountain West) that grew lots of apples. Every year in elementary school, we took a field trip to the local orchard/cider mill and got some fresh cider and cider donuts. It was a lovely treat

Idk about the UK, but I can tell you what they are. They're a cake-style donut flavored with apple cider (not the alcoholic kind you might be familiar with, but unfiltered apple juice that North Americans call just cider), cinnamon, and nutmeg. In North America, they're most common in the Northeast

It's cooler today than it has been, but it's still shorts-and-a-hoodie weather for another few days. I think this is the longest I've gone into October without changing into long pants since 2020. And I was on a medication that messed up my heat tolerance back then.
