Extremely common, actually. This top-top volume stuff is more rare, but you'll still probably see a couple in any given day in a big city. It's a variant of an $80k car with common parts and the $150k mid-grade variants are so plentiful that 15-year-old examples can be found on Facebook for $25k.

And if there is any real core trend in LMH/LMDh engines, it's re-using homework from an existing racing project. BMW and Genesis are V-8s made of existing turbo 4s, Ferrari's V-6 has stuff in common with the 296 GT3, Porsche's V-8 is basically 25 years old, Acura's V-6 was a scrapped IndyCar engine.
