FFS, you clowns. "Undeclared mustard" in a food safety setting has to do with mustard being a not uncommon allergen. It has nothing to do with chemical weapons. Some of you are just being silly.

I apologise if I’ve been a bit harsh. But I’ve had way too much exposure to bad people who use the “no war so there’s no war crime” argument to justify inhumane atrocities

A fascist-bent UK government could decline to use the murder laws to prosecute a Marine for killing people in the English channel. But if that marine went on holiday to, say, Mexico or Spain, that country could try the Marine for the crime in a way that a bog-standard domestic crime wouldn't be

Man in a gilet stood on platform 12 gives up on reading the display and asks ChatGPT out loud if he is on the right platform for his train. I don’t want to be dramatic about it but Eratosthenes figured out the circumference of the Earth using a stick and knowledge of a distant well.

Part of the difference between a "war crime" and a normal domestic murder is that there is universal jurisdiction for war crimes. Any country can try them. Making something a "war crime" does not let anyone off the hook.

Hard to overstate how much Hegseth's execution stream mirrors the U.S. military's traditional description of ISIS propaganda: broadcast killings designed to send a message, strike fear and create a social media spectacle. Will almost certainly be repurposed by online terror cells

Oh aye, wildlife on British coinage "is a denial of history", is it now?
A heap of farthings from 1941, all of them showing a rather evil looking wren. For clarity, that's the bird, not the Royal Navy's feminine side. Of course in 1941 the sort of person now trying to turn this into a culture war would be happier trying to change British coinage into something more... Reichsmark shaped.
