Facts matter more than fear-mongering. Here, Sarah Bentley (IG @bentley_sarah) brilliantly uses rice and lentils to show the reality: asylum seekers are a tiny fraction of the UK population, and supporting them costs little compared to the national budget. We all deserve the truth over propaganda.

At forRefugees we stand with people displaced, dehumanised and silenced. And we stand with those who stand with them. Today, that means standing with Gary Lineker. One mistake doesn’t erase a lifetime of humanity. We know Gary to be a principled ally to refugees, and an inspiration to many.

Mainstream radio presenters like Vanessa Feltz are perfectly happy to contribute, in their own small way, to the rise of the extreme far right. Her interview with me on LBC just now was chock full of lies. Calls herself a journalist. Really I wonder how they sleep at night.

The final honor guard for Pope Francis included migrants, prisoners, transgender people, the homeless and others selected by the Vicariate of Rome as a symbol of the late pope’s mission of inclusion and outreach. Read more from the funeral: wapo.st/3YdDGqM
“That they should be the ones to welcome Pope Francis’s coffin in the basilica is because these people are those who represented the focus of his mission,” said Father Giulio Albanese, head of missionary cooperation and communications for the Vicariate of Rome. “They are those who live on the peripheries, geographical and existential peripheries.”

Crimes against humanity! I am sickened to my core! This must be stopped!
Rep Jerry Nadler says 3 children who are U.S. citizens have been deported and their families have been denied access to attorneys. One of the children has a rare form of cancer and was deported without their medicine or access to their doctor.
We must end this cruelty.

“Deporting” someone is sending them back to their country where they are free to live as citizens. What that asshole is doing is NOT deportation. It’s kidnapping and human trafficking. It’s illegally sending people to USA-funded off shore concentration camps.

Religion is widely used by dictators and others for power and control - claiming the voice of God so people follow them. It’s not religion that’s the problem - it gives people immense strength in their toughest times - it’s the power hungry who use it for their own means.

The Rwanda scheme served the Tories as a useful headline grabber. Every time there was a Tory/Johnson scandal coming, Braverman popped to Rwanda and did something - in a red dress - to steal the front page headlines 🤷‍♀️. Rwanda was never an affordable, or legal, plan. The Tories new it.
