Endo, of course, reciprocated: #ddtpro

I've got an old Avengers DVD playing in the background while I do some editing/rewriting today, and every single time I look up, I get mooney-eyed over Emma Peel all over again.

He's the second comedian I've successfully armchair diagnosed based on the structure of their shows. (My mom, bizarrely enough, took one look at a clip from Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 and said "His posture...is he one of your people?")

James Acaster's openly talking about his autism in interviews now. What a time to be alive. www.clashmusic.com/features/jam...

How much did your love of crafting playlists and tracklists play affect the album?

I’ve always loved figuring out playlists, sequences of setlists, in that case with comedy as well – that really helps with make an album like this. In 2007 when we recorded seventeen tracks, we had it in a certain sequence, but I was really happy to create a different journey.

That’s a part of my brain that’s always been engaged with anything creative. It’s almost certainly a trait of my autism, but, as with a lot of autistic traits, it’s very fortunate to have.

Why yes, it is! He was an extremely fair and unbiased ref.

It's from A Colt Is My Passport, and the rest rules almost as much as that scene!

Mostly unfounded conspiracy theory time: Pokotan's height and movements in this match make me think there's a 20-30% chance someone I know and love is under that otter head.

So sorry for your loss. I'm still mourning one that I had to replace a few years ago. Even as the new one treats me perfectly well.

The peerlessly photogenic Mizuki has done it again.

an action shot from a wrestling match.
Jushin Thunder Liger rests his back on the TJPW canvas toward one corner of the ring, trapping Hyper Misao in the romero special. Misao's head is thrown back in agony, making her look like a dying martyr in a classical painting. a pink-frilled Mizuki descends from the heavens like a fallen angel, ready to stomp Misao in the suspended gut

Did showing me his nipples on the tour bus mean nothing to him??

Kurchak: The Night Stalker @fodderfigure.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Yeah. It was just posted on her Instagram and Facebook accounts. I knew she was sick, because she’d pulled out of the tour with the Pikes, Odds, and TPOH, but not that sick.

When I was growing up, Sass Jordan was the old school rocker who could and was clearly open to hanging with the upcoming indie bands. I always thought she was cool for that. And for her incredible voice. RIP.

It's also the origin of "a jumped up pantry boy who never knew his place." And I really don't know how I missed that one as a teenager.

Haru really "gets" wrestling for many reasons, but among them is her mind for building drama. Every match for her is a tokusatsu protagonist making their heroic last stand.

Between this and The Wicker Man screenplay, I owe Anthony Shaffer an awful lot.

The original film adaptation of Sleuth is on YouTube and it's about as devilishly fun as I remembered it. (And far more of an obvious No. 9 influence than I'd realized. It's kind of cool to realize that something you loved as a teen fostered something you adore now.)

Nodoka was my girl! I think what I really love about Prism Greed is that it’s its own thing and isn’t trying to recreate something else, but it’s not entirely divorced from that lightning in a bottle, either. There’s so much love for the Bakuretsu Sisters in there.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just woke up and trusted commentary.

There was a time when I didn't think we'd ever see Yuki Aino have the exact spark she had when she was wrestling with her sister ever again.

It would have been mind blowing if it were just a touch smoother, but it's still pretty damned cool, and a nice variation on a somewhat overplayed theme.

I’m sad that Kamiyu is showing no interest in coming back to do English commentary post-retirement. Even her random groans are expressive as hell and add so much to the match.

I’m generally a big fan of the loooong road toward TJPW victory and Arisu Endo’s valiant underdog losses, but even I’m ready to pull that trigger soon.

If I get my shit together later, I’ll gif it (and maybe wrote about it) but for now I’ll just say I really loved what Zara did with the Canadian Destroyer there, turning it into a direct pin attempt. And of course Shoko is perfect and everything she does is magic.

Kurchak: The Night Stalker @fodderfigure.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Anyway, Zara vs Shoko: maximalism done right?

130

Kurchak: The Night Stalker @fodderfigure.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

She’s still quite young and has a very bright future in wrestling if she wants it, but it’s still a crime that WWE ID wasted any of Zara Zakher’s time.

I was about to say something like “wow, I never really thought of h As a 90s sad guy before,” but then I realized I did say he was a voltron of every crush I’d had as a teenager when developed pain eyes (eyeliner) as a result of his breakup with Tetsuya.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it a hit piece, because I've been in writing circles long enough to know incompetence is at least as common as malice, but that Salon piece isn't exactly an elegantly constructed argument.

This seems like a good excuse to revisit the time I was so excite about finding a souvenir Elliott Gould glass at a thrift store that I failed to spell his name multiple times. Even when it was on the glass that I had just purchased and photographed. (This was my third attempt at posting, too.)
