How much did your love of crafting playlists and tracklists play affect the album?

I’ve always loved figuring out playlists, sequences of setlists, in that case with comedy as well – that really helps with make an album like this. In 2007 when we recorded seventeen tracks, we had it in a certain sequence, but I was really happy to create a different journey.

That’s a part of my brain that’s always been engaged with anything creative. It’s almost certainly a trait of my autism, but, as with a lot of autistic traits, it’s very fortunate to have.

I have complicated feelings about that man, but I’ll always love his earlier decades of work and I’ll always love that he did an interview before that awful movie came out where was pretty casual about Illya and queerness.

Anyway, the terribly offensive thing I posted to inspire all of this discussion, which has been called everything from passive aggressive to toxic, was this:

I get that it can be very comforting to think that you only struggled because you were so much better than everyone else. But your fellow autistic people were struggling, too. And having a name for those struggles wasn’t always as helpful as it is now. (All of these memes that erase our experiences and turn us into some nameless mediocre and yucky hoard that stole everyone else’s diagnoses and support doesn’t help, either.)
