I was going over some of the trends/eras of illustration with my students today and Corporate Memphis created the most conversation. It was compared to a business man in a happy face mask, Arial & pop music. Good in contexts like brightening up a train station, bad in masking the cruelness of tech.

I think you hit the nail on the head with it the cleaner line being a digital thing. I could never articulate that or why I personally struggled with connecting to super tight clean digital inks but im like 🤯 that makes so much sense. I love traditional mediums, digital is just more convenient
