Clearly there are going to be a lot of stupid takes on the by-election, so when I see one, I am going to post a picture of a painting and a general subtweet rather than getting involved.

This really does need some attention. I’m not sure even a slither of the population realise that either their local school is at risk of closure or could have a big financial risk (which will impact on teaching quality as most schools budget is staffing)

The Today programme did my absolute pet peeve today - calling social housing subsidised. It’s absolutely not subsidised. Tenants rents and services charges cover all the costs for the upkeep of their home and the loan repayments for money borrowed to build it!

Complaining about nightlife when you *checks notes* choose to live in Soho is like living in South Kensington and complaining about the museums. Or moving to Hackney and grumbling about creatives. Living in Richmond and hating green space. It's all getting a bit silly, isn't it?

In Doppelganger, @naomiaklein.bsky.social shows how white supremacists assume the victimhood of those they oppress, presenting the evils they do as evils done to them. In Britain, where black people are 7 times more likely than white people to die after police restraint, this is what we are seeing.

Why on earth is the Today programme talking about “protestors” in’s Southampton when it’s a race riot? And why is talking about a “debate” on white racism in policing when it’s just out right racist rhetoric with no backing in facts!
