As usual, I’ve been in Liverpool at Labour Party Conference. It is always a pleasure to be “All Together Now’ with the Labour family. 🌹 Read my reflections on what might be the best conference I’ve been to. I can certainly feel “Hope Again!” ⬇️ jamespottsblog.wordpress.com/2026/09/30/r...

What is the only time a Blairite, a Brownite and a Corbynite all agree? When they’ve watched a speech by Andy Burnham! As usual, I’ve spent the last few days in Liverpool at Labour Party Conference…

My response at Full Council on Thursday to a question on our libraries in Islington. ⬇️ Let me be clear, no decision has been taken on their future and I look forward to working with everyone on shaping a new Libraries Strategy so they reflect the needs of the borough. 📚

Lovely lunchtime helping @wandsworthlabour.bsky.social in the Trinity By-election. The Tories could control the council if Labour lose. Good luck to our candidate Shirin Georgiani 🌹

My favourite fact about the ULEZ is how internet traffic dropped hugely when people who were angry about it realised they wouldn’t have to pay! And guess what? Children’s lungs are healthier as a result. Bold action from @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social has paid off. 👏🏻 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Spot the difference. We didn't 5x the Cycleways network in London overnight. It took vision, hard work, & the conviction to invest in green infrastructure - often in the face of vocal opposition. In 2016, we had 90km of Cycleways. Now we're at 450km. That's progress. And we're not stopping there.
Graphic with the headline, “London’s cycle network is now five times larger than in 2016.” The upper map is labelled “BEFORE 2016” and shows London with a small number of bright green cycle routes concentrated around central London. The lower map is labelled “AFTER 2026” and shows London with many more bright green cycle routes extending across central and outer London.
