Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

Snib's Cave (Bennane Cave), on the Ayrshire coast, near Lendalfoot. It was the home of Henry Ewing Torbet, aka Snib Scott (after an earlier inhabitant in the 1920s) for 30 years, until a severe storm in 1983 left him with pneumonia. #blackandwhitephotography #Scotland #History

An addendum on the feast of Saint Michael: In Norwegian folk-belief, this was the day when mermaids - or rather a troll lady of the sea - would let their cattle graze on land. If people saw these troll-cows grazing at dawn, the fodder would turn bad during the winter.

About 30,000 autistic ppl in the UK have Type 2 Diabetes, aren't on insulin, & use wearable monitors (CGMs). These save lives for those who don't spot low-sugar events / can't cope with endless painful finger prick tests each day etc. The NHS has removed funding. Now, have to pay ~ £1500/yr. /

There's an element of eugenics about the way Covid vaccination has been slowly worsened and worsened in the UK. Now, unless you have 90 quid, are over 75, or find yourself on the very slim list of vulnerable people, you're not worth vaccinating. No RFK needed.

“Can I do it?” is a terrible measure of disability. Yes, I can do it. Can I do it repeatedly? Can I do it safely? Can I do it without support? Can I do anything afterwards? Can I do it tomorrow too? What does doing it COST? These tell me a lot more about my capability.

Why it's so much harder to do my job. Why my friendships failed. Why I'm so constantly tired. Why I rehearse conversations and fear phone calls. Why I swallow my emotions and am never sure if I'm entitled to be angry/sad. Why I can speak with ease to a lecture theatre and struggle in conversation.

I always hesitate to use the word 'trauma' because it feels like appropriating something bigger than I deserve, but it really is traumatic to have lived 35 years in the world before I was diagnosed AuDHD and never to have known why I couldn't be like the majority.

What a story to wake up to. It's bad. It's really, really bad. People are getting high on meth and then injecting other people with their blood to "share" the high (it's called "bluetoothing"). Clean needles are hard to come by. Meth isn't. The population largely doesn't know about antiretrovirals.
