I've been pondering this phrase/metaphor that I thought up recently. "Please stop pouring the acid of toxic shame on your open wounds." And I'm half frustrated with it.. cause I think word choice undermines the original intention of the phrase. Anyone got any rephrasings they think would work?

Rephrased: artists whose productivity styles are better suited for Paid-Memberships/Web Shops/Etc. wouldn't feel so "WELP, I have to (struggle to) do commissions, I guess!" if visual artists were seen as useful for more than just "I need someone to draw me a specific picture of a specific request."

I'm concerned that this fits, but at the same time it counter-intuitively shows just how valuable understanding emotional logic is. Cause logical logic and emotional logic are not the same equations, let alone results. You can't make someone eat a pencil, but an apple(food) is better received.

Hey, I saw I post on here at some point that pointed out how you could call the police on ICE. Had a whole thing about how the poster reported "suspicious men in unmarked suits/outfits loitering around their neighborhood" only for the police to actually send out a SWAT teem, which scared ICE off.
