I run a 'frankencassette'. It's a wide 7speed combination of cogs that suits old 7speed thumbies. I basically drilled the retaining rivets off the stack. The beauty of this is that I can easily disassemble it to thoroughly clean and polish every individual cog and spacer. It's highly therapeutic.

There's always some mofo who waits till like just before 5:30pm on a Friday, or whenever you're just about to clock-off home, to come and request some shit they've been sat on for a week but just suddenly decided they want done urgently, as you've turned off the computer and getting your coat on.

I was in a massive life-changing smash 5 years ago. Keeping moving has been the only way forward from it. Some days it feels like a bitter pill, but overall, movement has been medicine for me.

I spent 12 years in comms and press office. Left in 2018. Don't miss it one bit. Lately, I've factory reset my phone and deleted most of the apps off it (including social media). I now limit my online time to Bsky/Insta/YT on my desktop while having morning coffee or post evening meal/supper.

I swear technology used to be simpler and less hassle to use - say 10-15 years ago. There's no easy way to rip a sample of audio from YouTube to add as a soundtrack to video. I'm using a Macbook Air. Of course, in their infinite wisdom, Apple removed the useful cd slots and connectivity ports ffs.

Sounds good! Never worry about gatekeepers or the done thing - do your own thing! Had some lovely polished silver On-One Fleegle bars, but they disappeared along with the bike. They're my faves out of all the bars I've ridden with over the years. Managed to find the same bars off eBay, but black.

Fuel just isn't expensive enough and car finance is way too easy to get. People live in low rent shitholes, yet park £50k to £150k cars they'll never own, outside their flats.

Within 100 metres of us, there's the Lee Valley leisure centre, where crowds of drivers rock up for midnight car meets. There'll be 4 hours of relentless revving, fireworks, smoke, tyres screeching from 'donuts' and racing around the block. No point bothering the cops as they're not interested.

Often they'll have their mates with them in the car, all chuffing balloons or whatever. Periodically, there's the sound of another builder's canister of nitrous oxide tumbling out the car and rolling across the tarmac. Of course, there's no-one around to GAF this is going on.

This is a particular problem on the sink estate I live on. People who aren't residents park up in our residents' car park. They'll sit in their cars for hours with the engine running. It's worse at night as they have seismic basslines pumping while headlights shine into folk's flats.
