Sadly, they are too clever to be fooled by such simple means and immediately asked when the next issue is out so they could read them together. 😂 May start a betting pool on how long it takes to cave...

Kiddo wasn't sold on AOR, so I've been appointed The Voice of Reason. Came home from school today and asked me about Unbreakable. "Well, there were cats... Oh look, a pterodactyl!" This is what you've reduced me to, @gailsimone.bsky.social Someone who lies to children. Monstrous.

The "don't use em dashes in your writing if you don't want to be mistaken for being AI" thing is so funny to me because the way I use em dashes is so unhinged, no robot can every replicate that

Man, the greatest writing high is rereading the fic that's old enough you've forgotten most of the details but not so old that the quality is below your current* skills. It's a little gift targeted at your niche AND weird likes. *After the last 18 months, it is above but that's another story

And now it's reached the even more fun stage, where I wish I'd made a different decision on every single front. Every single one. I would like to skip this step, just once. Trot right on through to "I wrote this? Damn, I'm good." Alas, this is the only way my brain learns shit.

Split it into thirds. Third on debt, third on savings so you have an emergency fund and don't start the debt cycle again, a third on something you want/need but have been putting off so your brain gets validation this was a Good Thing.

If you stopped watching with s1, I am imploring you (all three of you who might see this 😂) to go back. It's not a deeply faithful adaptation, but it captures the broad strokes and characters in a way that is compelling/ And even the initially weak actors are doing good work this season

Been too unwell to write, so I started the new season of Wheel of Time. s2 was an upgrade from s1 and I knew it was setting up some of my fave plotlines, but I did not expect to get sideswiped by how damned *interesting* the writing choices are proving to be, and the casting continues to be fabulous

one of my favorite things about Farscape is how trying to describe the plot of any episode of Farscape makes it sound like you have fully detached from reality. not in a "I'm describing a work of science fiction" way, but in a "I mixed pot gummies and Robitussen" way.
