Something that’s really been gnawing at my mind for a while is how much the art community feels scattered. So I think it would be fun to do an #art share at least once a month. Let’s kick it off. Share your art, like and comment on the posts of others, and get more art in your feed!

Excerpt from a larger painting that I realized looked rad on its own- a tanarukk from the ol' Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual. #DnD #Tanarukk #MonsterManual #DnDArt #FantasyArt #DigitalPainting #WIP
Digital painting of a Tanarukk, a monster from Dungeons and Dragons which is an orc-like humanoid with large horns, animal-like clawed feet, and spikes all over, charging forward holding a rough looking sword from a cloud of red smoke.

allow me to surf on odyssey hype to repost an old piece from 2013 Penelope, Queen of Ithaca - 30x40cm ink on claybord
a black and white scratchboard illustration depicting Penelope, queen of Ithaca waiting for Odysseus. She is standing at the edge of a small stone platform, the sea right underneath, like by a ray of light, wrapped in black robes. Behind her, stairs climb back up the hill behind tall pine trees. In the distance, a square palace sits on the top of the hill, with light coming from the windows.

Panel 1: Shenne (this is how I'll reference the girl version of Shen from now on) is making a comically pouty crybaby hands with her hands raised and saying "oooo I can't even draw a stick figure"

Panel 2: She's now doing raptor hands and continuing to make the pouty face in profile view, saying "ooooo if I draw something, it's gonna be BAD!"

Panel 3: Shenne faces you directly, the front of her body shaded apart from her eyes and teeth, which form a disgusted expression as she says "WHO THE HELL CARES?? DON'T YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU WANNA SAY TO THE WORLD???"

Panel 4: Shenne, still with a disgusted expression, says "here, loser" and throws a pencil at you.

Imbue "What did you do to my sword? This is incredible!" "I enchanted it to resonate with the frequency of the Plane of Water. When you wield it, a tiny fragment of that plane's power is manifesting." "The plane of water, eh? Not unlike yourself, then." "I thought I should stick to what I know."

I'd still know you/ Not being shown you/ I only need/ The working of my hands Original characters Kamiko and Jean-Baptiste. Been picking away at this an hour or two at a time for months, so very excited to have finished it. Inspired by the above lyric from Hozier 's De Selby pt 2.
The artist's characters Jean-Baptiste and Kamiko stand embracing in darkness, the only illumination coming from the points where their skin touches. Jean-Baptiste is a human man with curly red hair and beard and a single pearl earring, painted in oranges. Kamiko is a water genesi woman with Japanese features and long dark hair, painted in blues. Jean-Baptiste holds Kamiko from behind as she reaches up to hold his arms and shoulders while he kisses her neck.

Drawing the current arc villain of my DnD home game again, Sower, a zealot of a chaos goddess. The stag is a stand-in for the party as a whole, since 3/5 of us have the mark of Beshaba, goddess of misfortune, which shows up in True Sight as black antlers and crown. #DnDOC #DnDArt
Black and white line art of a kneeling older man in armor. He smiles cruelly as he stabs a spear through the neck and chest of a kneeling black stag with a black crown hovering above its antlers. The stag's hind legs are bound with chain. The same image as previous, with flat color added in sickly yellows and greens, particularly billowing yellow smoke behind the figures and distant storm clouds.

I've been ever-so-slowly picking away at a song comic for my D&D game set to the lyrics of "Dirty" by grandson, and I've got the first four pages/panels done now. #SongComic #LyricComic #DnD #OCs
Greyscale drawing of a song comic. The upper portion has the lyric "Is it time to lead" over an image of a half orc bard speaking to a crowd of angry looking villagers. The lower portion shows the same bard's limp body sinking into black water with the lyric "or is it time to die?"Song comic continues. Upper portion shows a wizard character in a kimono gripping an armed soldier by the shoulders and shocking him with lightning with the lyrics "Time to raise hell". Lower portion shows the same wizard hiding behind bookcases to avoid being seen by a pair of men dressed like monks with shaven heads with the lyric "Or walk on by".Song comic continues. The lyric "Is there anybody out there that's paying attention?" is superimposed over a scene of a burning barn. The wizard and bard, along with a sorceror, are trying to put out the fire while a small faerie creature holding a straight razor spies on them from behind a water trough.Song comic continues. The upper portion has the lyric "Is it time to speak up" over art of the sorceror character pointing an accusing finger at a woman in a habit and veil who is concealing an antler-handled dagger behind her back. The lower portion has the lyric "Or time for silence?" over an image of the three previous characters with a flamboyantly dressed barbarian hiding under a cloak in the woods to avoid a ghostly apparition with the skull of a walrus.

Cool new villain dropped in the latest session of my DnD home game! Commodore Scarlatos feels like a real piece of work so far. Love that he has a Spanish navaja folding knife, it's such a good detail.
Simple digital portrait of a man in uniform with an ornamental gorget around his neck. He has short black hair and a striking face with pronounced cheekbones. He sneers at the viewer.Sketch of the full outfit worn by the man in the previous drawing. He wears a white sleeveless vest and pants, with two red stripes running down the front of the vest. He has a red sash, red neck cloth, riding boots, and a sea captain's great coat thrown over his shoulders without putting his arms in the sleeves. He carries a flintlock pistol in one hand and a navaja folding knife in the other.

Artists, show us something epic!
Digital illustration of an event from the artist's home D&D game. A half orc bard on a flying carpet claps his hands together to cast Thunderwave, which has knocked away a bugbear warrior. The bugbear is falling towards sharp rocks on the ground, and the red-hot ornate greatsword he has dropped falls before him in the foreground of the picture.

You know like in that meme but a little different. The crow is casting a pink shadow onto an irregular orange shape it is standing on. And arrayed around said shape is some rough lettering in multiple colors reading ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

The #Artemis II astronauts said they needed more superlatives to describe their view of the eclipse, when the Sun was behind the Moon and its near surface was faintly illuminated by Earthshine
Captured by the Artemis II crew during their lunar flyby on April 6, 2026, this image shows the Moon fully eclipsing the Sun. From the crew’s perspective, the Moon appears large enough to completely block the Sun, creating nearly 54 minutes of totality and extending the view far beyond what is possible from Earth. The corona forms a glowing halo around the dark lunar disk, revealing details of the Sun’s outer atmosphere typically hidden by its brightness. Also visible are stars, typically too faint to see when imaging the Moon, but with the Moon in darkness stars are readily imaged. This unique vantage point provides both a striking visual and a valuable opportunity for astronauts to document and describe the corona during humanity’s return to deep space. The faint glow of the nearside of the Moon is visible in this image, having been illuminated by light reflected off the Earth. [alt text from NASA]

Sometimes what an illustration WIP needs is to be left untouched for six months so you can come back with fresh eyes and figure out what the hell was going wrong with the face.
Digital painting in process of a fantasy character covered in glowing tattoos seen from a low angle backlit by the full moon behind bare tree branches. The face looks kind of weird.A close up of the head of the character from the previous image, now repainted and looking much better.
