Full disclosure, I inflate my own like count on a lot of my videos by adding a like from each of my channels. The fact that 2 likes registers as a significant proportion of the total is indicative of the problem here though

The only real metric viewers can see is likes at this point, so now more than ever, if you like a video, please hit the button that says so

YouTube changed their algorithm last year to ruin small creators, and now they just display a fake view count to make it look like we're doing well again. I have 350 useless fake views on one of my videos, 6 times the real view count. Don't believe their lies!

Watched Cube for the first time last night, and while it wasn't "good", it's kinda fuckin wild how accurately it satirized the banality behind the path to fascism. Basically called our modern police state and the casual implementation of shocking atrocities way back in 1997.

I shudder to think how close we are to people who have already forgone the use of the voluntary AI disclosures adding their own "no AI was used we swear" sections to games with flagrant AI assets. Devs that have sincerely spent years making games like False Hero and House 2 are so unfairly fucked

I can't buy anything anymore unless it's from a short list of trusted devs or has a devoted section of its steam page explicitly stating that they didn't use any AI at any point. Everything else is likely poisoned and not worth my time.

You know Steam's AI disclosure policy is fucked when Graveyard Keeper 2, a game whose dev held an AI-only fanart contest and has talked openly and extensively about how much AI he's used in the last year, launches without any disclosure whatsoever

By determining how many times my average view duration (16.5 minutes) goes into my total watch time (3.8 hours), we can see that YouTube still tracks my true view count of 14, but its new way of counting views displays 60 for no discernible reason, it's just fun for them.
