i am mixed on that post doing the rounds about rehabilitation but one thing that frustrates me about it is how it chastises the parasociality of what's happening with geller, sort of acknowledges that the author does the same, and never really comes to a conclusion on that fact! just don't post!

i think mostly what this week has proven is that games media still does not know to talk about... anything that's uncomfortable it is not a well read enough industry, and even those who are often don't take the time to think "maybe i don't need to blog about it"

I think what really gets my ass is like, nobody currently working in games media in a hiring or commissioning position will admit it, but the severe gendering of who gets to write and produce content in this space is part of an explicitly male chauvinist, right wing cultural movement.

i think for me the question is less about if i think i will any more, and more, "right, there's too much wrong with this industry, so what do i do instead?" approaching 30 and im in a constant state of "what do i want to be when i grow up" and im unsure if games journalist fits as an answer

i never understand the "this is what the game i imagined in my head as a child looked like" comments because why do you not want to use your imagination still? it'll always be more powerful than whatever a corporation has to offer you

it would even help justify the unreal engine vibe of it all! and keep in step with the themes of nature the game features idk man sure you can call me old or whatever but i only played OOT for the first time in full in 2023, i don't have that same kind of nostalgia other folks do

i think my gripe with how OOT remake looks lies in the fact that i wish it maybe leaned into the whole "legend" aspect link's awakening remake's aesthetic works because you can imagine a little kid playing with toys imagine an OOT remake where they all look like wooden marionettes or something?
