It's not about taking things away from people who have earned them and giving those things to people who haven't earned them. It's about making sure that everybody has their efforts recognized and rewarded, regardless of where they start economically or what circumstances they randomly run into.

The gist of the DSA's platform is allowing people who are actually doing the work to control how they make the things that they make, how those things are distributed through society and how people are rewarded for making the things.

Protesting surveillance capitalism has its upsides, but without constructive action it's just yelling into the void. Breaking stuff is a bad idea for obvious reasons but it also doesn't achieve anything. Hosting your own services to replace them is more effective. codeberg.org/kaizenOramar...

Data centers use power to do math, but the input and the output are both electricity. The output signals just go on to drive displays. All electrical current generates heat. That heat is managed by systems that make more heat. TL;DR - an AI image was literally rendered on a toaster.

Although I do see where I screwed up in the way I worded that comment. The filter probably got me because I used language such as, "yank him out of office and toss his butt in jail", and action verbs are probably more likely to get you bonked because that implies initiative.

I bet laser pointers would be surprisingly effective against drones. You would probably need something quite a bit more powerful for guided bombs and missiles, but laser pointers for drones would be a good start

I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.
