Nvidia has an excellent business making chips for gamers, researchers, etc. Their current valuation is ridiculous even considering their sales since it has infinite growth baked in. They’ll have to take the correction and move on. Maybe put some of Jensen’s leather jackets on eBay.

With the US GDP at 32 trillion, this means that IF YOU COULD REPLACE EVERY CODER IN THE US, the value would be 300 billion. Of course you can’t replace them. These companies want multi trillion valuation . This is a failed experiment. Let’s please pull the plug already.

So far, AI has been successful as a coding tool. There are a lot of nuances there but let’s set that aside for a bit. Programmers make up less than 1% of the US workforce. Latest data I can find says 0.96% and the trend seems to be going down, but we can use that number.

The main challenge in making a program like Photoshop, for example, is user experience and workflow. All the code to edit images is freely available and open source (GIMP).

Plenty of food vendors in places like Thailand or Japan where they need to communicate with non-natives use photos, not professional grade but functional enough. Even street food carts. I’ve seen some food slop start to come up and it’s horrible.

Also, and this needs to be repeated until it sticks, to do science you need to show *how* you arrived at a result, not just have a pretty good prediction accuracy. It can sometimes find correlation for example, but for the hard part (causation) it won’t do much good.
