I think the issue of random encounters is that they're a bit archaic now. Not bad but dated in such a way that a lot of people are repulsed at the thought of it them. I much prefer battles like in Paper Mario, but Octopath Traveler is a great example of Random Encounter done right.

Based on being queer, trans and in the 40k community, I gotta say that most of the really toxic and bigot elements are really concentrated in only a few places. Dont get me wrong, there are loads of edgy and problematic groups in the community but I was a teenager on mw2 once so i know its a phase
