![Koji Fox: The biggest thing that’s going to happen is that you’re going to switch macros in the text that basically look at what parts you’ve already completed, and then character feedback is going to be different based on whether you’ve done Area B, Area C, or Area D.
So, you’ll go to Area B, and a player will be talking to an NPC. Depending on whether you’ve already seen Area C or Area D, or if you’ve seen none of them and Area B is your first one, you’re going to get a different response about something, because your character will know or not know certain information. There’s going to be a lot of those splits, which means that instead of just one script, now you have four. It’s more work, but they’re making sure to do that because that makes it feel real. Because if you just have a split where everything is the same and isolated, then it doesn’t feel like your decision to do Area B first made any difference. People are just going to think, “Oh, it’s just a gimmick.” [The team] has to make it feel like it’s actually something.
I think there are many things the team is doing, and those splits in the dialogue are one of them to give it a more authentic experience. So, when you go to Area B after you’ve already been to Area D, the [NPC] starts talking about things that happened in Area D.
