Without the pandemic-era PPP loans, I do not think the Jan 6th attack on the US Capitol would have been possible at anything like the scale we saw. Name any prominent Capitol insurrectionist or Jan 6 organizer and there's a good chance they fleeced the PPP program for thousands up to millions.

Pro-“No” propaganda was intentionally misleading and misinforming voters. But also, VA has a lot of diehard centrists who are politically naive and will die on the hill of “two wrongs don’t make a right” rather than vote strategically. I’m surprised we won.

Nah. I remember Romney’s campaign, dressing down like a working class joe talking about how he and his wife once subsisted on tunafish sandwiches, as if he weren’t a wealthy scion whose dad gave him everything, but Obama was elite for using dijon mustard. Romney was a phony.

Once again, one of the primary reasons we have arrived at this point (completely out-of-control & unconstitutional abuse of executive power to conduct wildly illegal foreign policy) is that no one, including the most senior people involved, went to jail for the rest of their lives for Iran-Contra.

The primary purpose of an elite education is not to be good, it's to distinguish from non-elites as a narrative-building exercise. Having shitty education for the poors makes the merits of elite education more convincing to laypeople

In fact the king is immune from criminal and civil prosecution as head of state and has other privileges that functionally put him above the law. But Andrew is not a prince since Charles stripped his titles, and Charles chose not to protect him in this matter. Good thing Andrew’s not king.

I agree in principle with no computers in class for all the reasons you say, but I think it’s harder than you’re suggesting.
