Thinking about Goodbye Lara, I don't think the ending was *well* executed, but I do feel like her finally getting to be a messy, imperfect teenage girl was important It mainly feels like they wrote the end *first*, then ran out of runtime to set it up (many such cases)

The one that came to mind was this 2010s kinda X-Men ripoff called Alphas where it was a plot point that the autistic character was immune to mind control I'm certain I've seen others, but I think they were in short story collections, which kind of blur together for me
