Thank you for bringing John Cranmer and the Postman’s Park to wider attention- a very special place acknowledging everyday heroism. Really worth a visit if you are in London

As a regular volunteer at my local hospital it is clear to me that the NHS is supported in the most magnificent way by growing numbers of IENs. I shall be writing to @sianberry.bsky.social

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition. Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

As passengers we are being let down really badly and there is no way of making an effective complaint.

It is my firm belief that both Thameslink and Gatwick Express are benefitting from the fact that so many of their passengers have abandoned X and have therefore lost a platform for visible complaints

Please @sianberry.bsky.social is there anything you can do to call the train companies ‘serving’ Brighton to account. Service has been either non existent or abysmal since the New Year

My dear friend’s niece, who in October developed sepsis when a Georgia hospital refused her a D&C after a miscarriage, will be taken off life support tomorrow. I don’t know the names of the countless others who have suffered and will suffered because of anti-abortion laws. But her name was Haley.

I listened to the whole debate today and was struck by the mutual respect shown, the avoidance of irrelevant politicking (with the notable exception of Robert Jenrick) & the willingness of parliamentarians to take on the heavy responsibility asked of them. The conversation can continue.

The lack of shame & embarrassment expressed by those MPs relying heavily on the current state of palliative care provision in this country as a reason for opposing the bill is striking. We were world leaders in palliative care yet its funding has never been prioritised. MPs could have changed this.
