I despise having to check box-office numbers. But it pisses me off how Forgotten Island is doing so poorly despite being one of DreamWorks best films. The "animation is cinema" crowd seems more energized to hate on Disney or harass indie creators than to actually support new, original movies.

To share my professional insight a little bit. Jon Watts passed on an MCU return, a Jim Henson biopic, an original horror film, and "other Disney projects" in favor of Star Wars. I respect the dedication. Also a step up from James Mangold and Taika Waititi who are doing everything BUT Star Wars.

Talking to a friend about how excited we were for Rebel Moon. An original big budget sci-fi film that would potentially jumpstart an expanded universe was very exciting. Even the merchandise blitz sucked me in. Only for these movies to be the biggest pieces of shit Zack Snyder has ever made.
