On Tisha B'av, the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, I'd like to wish everyone observing an easy and meaningful fast.

What a win last night. It didn't matter who you were or what you looked like, everyone was in it together. That's worth celebrating as much as the result itself. Roll on Saturday … ⚽️

Great to join Pastor Aaron and the team for the 90th anniversary of Charlton Road Church in Kingstanding. Fantastic to see locals enjoying the activities, including the vintage museum showcasing Kingstanding’s history, exactly what Pride in Place promotes. Congrats to all!

A few days ago I had the pleasure of thanking volunteers involved in the annual Diwali celebrations in Cathedral Square. I love the mix of faiths & communities across the city. And Diwali a highlight. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish a happy Holi to our Hindu community in Peterborough.

After the horrifying events at Manchester Central Mosque on Wednesday - it is clear we need to protect religious sites.🙏 That's why Labour is ramping up protection funding - with over £68 million to protect Muslim and Jewish faith sites alone.🕌🕍 Photo credit: Manchester Evening News

Happy Holi to everyone celebrating! It was a joy to be invited to join the Indian British Group of Warrington today in Woolston to take part in celebrations for the festival - full of colour, dancing, music, fantastic cultural presentations from the children & of course some excellent food too! 🇬🇧🇮🇳

I was delighted to join with a wide range of Londoners for the annual British Asian Trust Iftar. By raising funding and awareness for mental health programmes, the iftar is a wonderful example of how Muslims join together and give generously to help others throughout Ramadan.

I had the privilege to be invited to speak at the divine celebration of Shiva and Shakti in Leeds, alongside the Lord Mayor of Leeds and attended by many of our neighbours from the Morley Indian community.

It was very moving to attend Birmingham's interfaith Holocaust Memorial Day service, and to hear survivor testimony. As the last generation to witness it passes on, it is more important than ever that the remembrance and study of the Holocaust lives on.

I believe the Church of England can do better because I see the amazing ways local Churches serve our communities everyday. Read my interview with @churchtimes.bsky.social online & in print. Link in bio.
A photo of Marsha standing at the alter in St Barnabas' Church with a screenshot of the Church Times logo and the article's headline pasted on topScreenshot of snippet from article: But she is also keen to emphasise the good that the Church brings to society, referring more than once to her vision of the local church as a “beacon of light”. The interview takes place, at her request, at the “incredible” St Barnabas’s, Clapham Common, in her own constituency of Battersea. She makes a beeline for a prayer group finishing its lunchtime meeting, and is clearly well known to the Vicar, the Revd Richard Taylor.

In the face of hatred and violence, love must always be stronger. This Christmas, we’re reminded of Jesus’ call to love our neighbours, cherish our differences and stand together. Not by fear and hate, but by faith, hope and a brighter future for all.

One of my favourite traditions each year is my Christmas Carol Service at Southwark Cathedral. It’s a moment to pause and reflect, but also celebrate the Christmas story of love, hope and joy.

It was an honour to stand with the Jewish community at Heaton Park Synagogue for a deeply moving Menorah lighting. In the face of hatred, this was a powerful reminder of resilience, unity and choosing light over darkness this Chanukah.

It is the first night of Chanukah and what should be a time of celebration is again also a time of grieving following the antisemitic terrorist attack in Australia. As Jews all over the world light our candles this Chanukah with our hearts heavy, we will keep alive the flame of hope in the darkness.
My Chanukiah (also known as a Hanukkiah sometimes called a menorah) with the first candle lit, on a table in a darkened room, with bookshelves visible in the background. Traditionally it goes in the window but for security reasons I can't show the view from my window on social media, lest someone who wishes me harm because I'm an MP and Jewish uses it to determine where I live, hence you're getting this photo instead.

Tonight, the first night of Chanukah, I know the thoughts of our whole community will be with Jews locally, in Australia, and around the world.

It was a real privilege to join colleagues and volunteers as we marked the 20th anniversary of Mitzvah Day, the UK’s largest faith-led day of social action. I was proud to stand alongside Jewish, Muslim and Christian colleagues to pack surplus food boxes for Londoners in need.

Great to visit the West Midlands this week. Thank you to Mayor Richard Parker for your leadership and ambition for your area. And to Bhai Mohinder for welcoming me to your Gurdwara. Inspiring to see the amazing work that the Nishkam Centre is doing for the community in Handsworth.
